Refund Policy

SUALCA Enterprise Development (Pty) Ltd  (“the Company”) aims to promote a fair, accessible and sustainable marketplace for the provision of the courses (“the Courses”) it provides to participants (“the Participants”) and to avoid unfair marketing and business practices. The Company therefore deals with refunds of Courses purchased and registered for in accordance with this policy

The nature of the provision of Courses has been outlined within the Standard Terms and Conditions. The following sequence of events occur upon the purchase of and registration for a Course by a Participant:

  1. The Participant will complete the application form and make payment for the Course purchased.
  2. Upon receipt of payment, the Participant is granted access to the Course including the associated content.
  3. The Course Access Period to complete the course, via prerecorded videos in accordance with the Course sequence is then immediately in effect.
  4. The downloadable documentation relating to the particular section/lesson of the Course, as well as on selected topics, becomes available to the Participant as the Participant progresses through the Course in the predetermined sequence.

In essence the Participant has purchased the right to access the Course and the associated content for the Course Access Period from the Company.

In light of the above, the Company generally has a zero refund policy given that the Participant has immediate access to the Course purchased and registered for.

The Company will, however, consider refunds, whether partial or in full, in exceptional circumstances, including but not limited to the following:

  • The Participant becoming permanently medically incapacitated;
  • Upon application by the Participant’s employer or estate, as the case may be, upon the death of the Participant;
  • Where the Participant has failed, through no fault of the Participant, to progress through the Course; and
  • Where the Company, in its sole and absolute discretion, has determined that a Participant should receive a refund.

It is the responsibility of the Participant or the person authorized to act on their behalf to initiate the refund process. The Company may require relevant documentation to be submitted in support of the grounds for a refund. Where the grounds for a refund are on the basis that the Participant has, through no fault if his/her own, failed to progress through a Course, a full refund will only be considered where such circumstances exist causing the Participant to have not commenced with any section of the Course nor downloaded any downloadable documentation. In the event of a Participant having commenced with a Course but having failed to complete it, the Company will consider a pro-rata refund based on the progress made by the Participant, the reasons for the Participant’s failure to have completed the Course and the duration of the Course.

If a Participant is eligible for a refund, the refund shall be made, within 5 Business Days from the date of the granting of a refund by electronic funds transfer into the bank account nominated by the Participant.

The granting of any refund is not guaranteed and is at the discretion of the Company.
